01Who we are
The sukihagane.com store ("Sukihagane", "we", "us") is operated by Kercot Scale LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Wyoming, United States — registered address: 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. Contact: hello@sukihagane.com.
These terms form the contract between you and Kercot Scale LLC for any order placed on this site. By placing an order you accept them. If a mandatory consumer-protection rule of your country of residence grants you more than these terms do, that rule prevails — nothing here reduces rights you cannot waive.
02Products
Every piece we sell is a restrike (復刻): a modern reproduction of a historical Japanese coin, made under contract by small workshops in Japan, in brass or copper with gold or silver plating, and aged by hand. Our pieces are not antiques, not legal tender, not precious-metal bullion, and are sold as decorative and collectible objects only. Patina, hammer lines, stamp positions and ink vary from piece to piece; the photographs show a representative example, not the exact unit you will receive. Such variation is the nature of the work and is not a defect.
Stated measurements and weights may vary within reasonable handcraft tolerances.
03Restrikes and the law
Our pieces must never be presented, sold or passed on as genuine antiques or as currency. By ordering you confirm you understand you are buying a reproduction. It is your responsibility to ensure reproduction coins may legally be imported and owned where you live.
04Orders
An order is placed when you complete checkout. It is accepted when we send the order confirmation email, at which point the contract is formed. We may refuse or cancel an order in case of obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, unavailability, or a delivery destination we cannot lawfully ship reproduction coins to; anything already paid is then refunded in full.
05Prices & payment
Prices are displayed in Japanese yen (JPY). The price charged is the one displayed at checkout at the moment you order. Payment is processed by Stripe; we accept the payment methods shown at checkout and we never see or store your full card details. Your bank may apply a currency-conversion fee if your account is not in yen — that fee is theirs, not ours.
For deliveries outside the European Union, import duties and local taxes may be charged on arrival and are borne by the recipient, as described in Shipping & returns.
06Shipping
We ship worldwide with tracked, insured carriers. Dispatch within 2–4 working days; indicative delivery times per destination are listed on the shipping page and are estimates, not guarantees. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. If a parcel is lost in transit, we reship or refund.
07Right of withdrawal & returns
Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. We voluntarily extend this to a 30-day return window for all customers, worldwide.
- To exercise it, notify us within the window at hello@sukihagane.com and return the item within 14 days of your notice.
- The item must be unworn, uncleaned, and returned complete in its original tenugui and box. You may inspect a coin as you would in a shop; cleaning, polishing or handling beyond that may reduce the refund by the value lost.
- We refund the price and the original standard shipping within 14 days of receiving the return (or proof of return shipment), using your original payment method. Return shipping is at your cost unless the item was defective or not what you ordered.
08Warranty
Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity applicable in their country — in the EU, at least two years from delivery. Independently, we warrant every piece against manufacturing defects (casting cracks, plating that lifts, boxes that split) for two years from delivery: we repair, replace or refund, at your choice where the law so provides.
Not covered: normal wear, the natural deepening of the patina, and damage from misuse — cleaning, polishing, acid or ultrasonic dips, storage in PVC or rubber, or storage while damp.
09Proper use & safety
Coins are small, heavy metal objects and a choking hazard for young children; keep them out of reach. They are decorative objects, not tools, jewellery or tender. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury or damage resulting from misuse, modification, or failure to exercise ordinary care.
10Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11Force majeure
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control — natural disasters, carrier or customs disruption, war, strikes. If the event lasts more than 60 days, either party may cancel the affected order and we refund what was paid.
12Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State of Wyoming. If you are a consumer, you additionally keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of habitual residence, and you may bring proceedings before your local courts where the law gives you that right.
Before any proceedings, write to us — nearly everything is solved by one honest email exchange.
13Changes & contact
We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published when you order. Questions: hello@sukihagane.com.
